Support for life in law enforcement, and life beyond it

Confidential mental health care for FOP members and their families.

SPECIALIZED SUPPORT

Care from someone who understands.

Law enforcement can affect how you work, sleep, connect with others, and experience life away from the job. Telemynd providers serving the FOP community receive specialized training focused on law enforcement and first responders.

We’ll work to match you with a provider whose training and experience fit your needs.

Your Privacy Matters

Confidential care.
Separate from your agency.

Get support without involving your lodge, employer, or law-enforcement agency.

Your care stays private

Telemynd does not tell the FOP, your lodge, employer, or agency that you requested or received care.

No individual reporting to the FOP

The FOP does not receive names or information identifying individual members or family participants who use the program.

The FOP only sees the big picture

Telemynd may share overall program totals and broad trends, such as how many people are participating and where more support may be needed. Nothing shared identifies you or describes your individual care.

Standard healthcare privacy applies

Care is provided through secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual appointments. Standard insurance processes and legal exceptions to confidentiality still apply.

SUPPORT BEFORE THE BREAKING POINT

You don’t have to wait for a crisis.

The demands of law enforcement rarely stay at work. Shift schedules, difficult calls, public scrutiny, and the responsibility of always being prepared can affect sleep, relationships, mood, and life at home.

The impact may follow a single event or build gradually until you feel more irritable, disconnected, exhausted, or simply unlike yourself. Care can help you process difficult experiences, manage stress, sleep better, strengthen relationships, and navigate changes at work or home.

In a national FOP survey of nearly 8,000 active and retired officers, 69% said stressful experiences on the job had left unresolved or lingering emotional effects.

Care for Members & Family

Supporting the people
behind the badge.

Law-enforcement life can ask a lot of families.

Unpredictable schedules, missed milestones, concern for a loved one’s safety, and adjusting when they come home can create stress that is easy to put aside. The free Life Stress Inventory gives spouses and family members a simple way to check in on their own well-being and see how much life’s demands may be adding up.

FOR MEMBER & FAMILY SUPPORT

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about privacy, eligibility, care options, scheduling, and what to expect when requesting care through Telemynd.

Is my care confidential?

Yes. Telemynd does not tell the FOP, your lodge, employer, or law-enforcement agency that you requested or received care.

The FOP may receive overall program totals and broad trends, such as how many people are participating and where more support may be needed. Nothing shared identifies you or describes your individual care.

Standard insurance processes and legal exceptions to confidentiality still apply.

Who is eligible?

The partnership supports active and retired FOP members, auxiliary members, spouses, and eligible family members. Telemynd will confirm eligibility after a request is submitted.

What happens after I request care?

Telemynd will confirm your eligibility, learn what kind of support you are looking for, and help connect you with an appropriate provider.

You do not need to know whether therapy, psychiatry, or another level of support is right for you before submitting a request. Our team will help you understand the available options and determine the appropriate next step.

Will my provider understand law-enforcement life?

Providers serving the FOP community receive specialized training focused on law enforcement and first responders. We’ll work to match you with a provider whose training and experience fit your needs.

How quickly can I receive care?

First appointments are typically available in less than seven days. Timing may depend on your location, availability, care needs, and provider preferences.

Do I need to have experienced a critical incident?

No. You can request care for everyday stress, sleep, relationships, anxiety, depression, grief, career transitions, or concerns entirely unrelated to law enforcement.

You do not need a diagnosis or a clear explanation of what is wrong before reaching out.

Is support available after retirement or a career change?

Yes. Retired FOP members are included in the partnership. Care can help with changes in identity, purpose, routines, relationships, or responsibilities during retirement, a second career, or another major life transition.

You can also request support for stressful experiences or concerns that developed earlier in your career.

Can my family receive care?

Yes. Eligible spouses and family members can request care for their own mental health needs. Their care does not have to be related to law enforcement, and the FOP member does not need to participate.

Can I help a fellow member or family member find care?

Yes. You can share this page as a private, direct way for someone to request support.

To protect their privacy, the person seeking care should submit their own request. Telemynd will then confirm their eligibility and help them take the next step. You will not receive information about whether they requested or received care.

What care options are available?

Telemynd offers therapy, psychiatry, and additional intensive support when clinically appropriate. Services may be used individually or together based on your needs.

Telemynd does not prescribe controlled substances.

What will care cost?

Cost may depend on your insurance coverage and the terms of the FOP benefit. Telemynd will review eligibility, coverage, and expected costs before care begins.
